OBJECTIVES: The aim of this project is to understand and acknowledge women within the Andalusian Social Economy through the life stories of six women. These accounts generate a comprehensive view of the evolution of the female role in this type of economy and in this specific region.
DESCRIPTION: The purpose of these six life stories is to express, through their composition, the relationship between these women’s life experiences and their socio-cultural context; in other words, the political, economical and social changes that have occurred in their historical and geographic context and in what way they have influenced and affected their lives.
It will be interesting to see how these stories reveal the changes that have taken place in Andalusia that have enabled, assisted or obstructed women’s incorporation into the employment world in general and their inclusion within the Social Economy specifically.
At the same time, it intends to share life experiences in which other women can see reflections of themselves or that serve as examples to many others, by way of a fairly intimate story, where the connecting thread may be the feelings, sensations and perceptions these women have experienced throughout their life in general and specifically in regards to their professional and business life. Only in this way may the proposed objective be achieved.
A chronological structure will be followed, which will be defined by the biological age of the interviewees themselves, being different in each case, depending upon whether it concerns younger or older women within the Andalusian Social Economy.
Thus, it will be possible to read the final document in a variety of ways: a reading of the life stories in their own right; a reading of the socio-economic and political history of Andalusia in the last years; and finally, an analytical summary that reveals the principal factors that have assisted the incorporation of women into employment within the Social Economy and the factors that have made this difficult:
