On July 2006, the Fundación Innovación de la Economía Social, INNOVES, was constituted, promoted by CEPES Andalusia and the Andalusian Federation of Associated Work Cooperative Companies (FAECTA).
The INNOVES foundation is intended as the instrument that will respond to the innovation and development needs demanded by the entire Social Economy of Andalusia, becoming a fundamental reference point for the implementation of the enterprise and innovation culture within the sector. And it is now, as the Social Economy’s becomes more prominent, that measures must be adopted that contribute to the consolidation of the sector, incorporating innovation into the Social Economy’s corporate culture as a means for maintaining and improving its competitiveness.
One of its objectives is to assist the participation of these companies in the instruments deriving from the R&D plans of the different administrations (PIMA (Innovation and Modernisation Scheme for Andalusia), National R&D Plan, the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme, etc.), to encourage knowledge transfer between them and the research bodies, thus leading to the development and implementation of innovative projects or encouraging alliance and intercooperation mechanisms that will achieve higher levels of skills and competitiveness.
The Foundation has its head office in the Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía in Malaga, which is an environment especially prescribed for the development of its innovative activity.
