Quality and Excellence - Implementation and Certification of ISO 9001 in Training Cooperatives

OBJECTIVES:

To establish a Quality, Excellence and Continuous Improvement Management System in accordance with the characteristics, nature and philosophy of the Social Economy Training Centres.

To define, promote and communicate the elements that comprise the Distinguishing Features of ACES (Andalusian Association of Social Economy Training Centres) and the network of centres of which it is composed. To have the necessary means to acknowledge and publicly award the status of “ACES Training Centre” to associated entities that demonstrate a determined level of progress in the implementation of the system. To apply the ACES Model of Excellence and Continuous Improvement, which provides a global perspective of the operation of the Social Economy Training Centre, as well as a conceptual and methodological reference point for the subsequent certification and management activities. To provide a methodology for the diagnosis and evaluation of all the processes, tasks and activities, as well as a reference framework for comparison with other entities of similar characteristics.

Implement a Quality Management System in accordance with the Spanish Standard UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 in the central office and in the associated centres.

DESCRIPTION:

Through this project, it is intended to establish and certify 23 cooperative companies (initially), using the MULTISITE system, with the UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 standard.

A "MULTISITE" organisation is defined as an organisation consisting of a central function (usually, and hereinafter called “central office”) that carries out or manages a series of activities that are executed in full or in part by a network of offices or branches (sites). It is accepted that said organisation is not a single legal entity whenever all of the sites have a contractual relationship with the central office and are subject to the same quality management system, established and supervised by the central office. This implies that said central office must have sufficient powers and the right to implement the necessary corrective actions in any site. When applicable, this right must be set out in the contract between the central office and the sites.

Examples of “MULTISITE” organisations are:

  • Companies that operate as franchises

  • Manufacturing companies with a network of commercial offices

  • Company with multiple branches.

On the other hand, it is also intended to award the status of “ACES Training Centre” to the centres that achieve the ACES Quality and Excellence Level, which includes as pre-requisites the Centre’s obtainment of the Quality Certification according to Standard UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000, as well as the ascertainment of a certain level of progress in the implementation of the ACES Quality, Excellence and Continuous Improvement System, pursuant to evaluation by a Committee made up of members of ACES and other independent organisations (or individuals).
