This is a participative company and the prototype of a social and socially responsible business. There are various other types, but this is generally the most genuine form of social economy entity, in which individuals or companies with shared socioeconomic interests or needs associate in order to carry out a particular economic activity.

Characteristics

The joint working makes it possible to develop any business activity under the cooperative principles of self-help, self-responsibility, equality and democracy.

The share contribution may be in the form of capital and/or work. No less than €3,500.06. The capital is fully subsribed with 25% paid up at the time of the company’s incorporation.

At least 3 members are required to set up one of these cooperatives. Its members/workers register under the General or Self-employed Social Security Scheme.
